Indigo, Avalon Previews Available to All Comers
Last weekend, Microsoft released a "Indigo" and "Avalon" community technology preview free of charge to anyone with the bandwidth to download.
Earlier, the two pre-test version of the Windows Longhorn window subsystem, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 has been restricted to MSDN subscribers.
"This next CTP release recently became available to MSDN subscribers, and is being released to the general public in response to numerous requests," Microsoft said on its download page.
Microsoft originally announced Indigo and Avalon ctps March 16. The computer-to-plate for the Indigo communications subsysytem is the first Microsoft has released since expanding Indigo and Avalon beyond Longhorn operating system in August. Earlier CTP, in order to the display subsystem Avalon out in November.
The Indigo and Avalon ctps here can be downloaded for 450 MB. Microsoft Indigo defined as Microsofts unified programming model for building connected systems. Pile it on the API. NET Framework 2.0, in order to establish a safe, reliable, transacted Web services, and Indigo is in order to save development time.
Avalon, a unified display subsystem from a display engine and a managed code framework. Avalon is how to create windows, display and manipulate documents, media and user interface.
